Vintage styling has been a hot topic in fashion recently, from 1950's style beachwear to luxurious Baroque inspired gowns and jewlery. It would seem that this all embracing trend for all things retro is set to continue into fall 2012 with baroque inspired pieces being shown on the worlds catwalks.
Baroque style is all about embracing luxurious fabrics, baroque prints and of course lace!!!! Oversized jewlery, headpieces and make up worn translucent and 'barely there' complement this homage to a period in the history of Western arts. The Baroque period was circa end of 16 th and all 17th century. Baroque female dress had simple lines but all of the drama and beauty of the garment was gained from the rich fabrics used, detailed embroidery and the addition of ribbons and ornamentation such as beading and jewels.
I feel that this beautiful versatile outfit from Indyra Seigo (Indyra Originals) has a slight Baroque feel to it with the delicate jeweled ruffled collar and clean lines. I have added drama to the outfit with oversized jewlery also from Indyra and statement boots from OLD.
