Ok so I said go buy RED but I did say I love black so here we are back to black!!
Historically black is the colour of authority and power. It is popular with fashion designers and Fashionistas because it makes people appear thinner. Prior to the 1920’s complex dyeing methods meant that black fabrics were only available to the wealthy, this changed as manufacturing methods improved and the common people could at last wear black.
Black was introduced to the fashion world by Coco Chanel in 1926, prior to this it was primarily used as a colour of
mourning however she popularised it to the extent that in the intervening years since its first introduction the’ little black dress’ has become an iconic wardrobe staple for most women.
It may also interest you to know that black is also a colour of submission with priests wearing it to demonstrate their submission to God! It has even been argued that the wearing of black by women implies submission to men! There have
even been books written about the little black dress such is its continued allure and longevity!!
I simply think black is a colour which implies strength and sex appeal and I for one will continue to wear it with pride and
